- Commodity Account Opening charges: Free (Rs 0 charges)
- Zerodha is a flat fee discount broker that charges maximum Rs 20 brokerage on per order basis.
- Apart from brokerage, other regulatory charges i.e., exchange transaction charges, GST, SEBI charges, and stamp duty are levied.
- Zerodha commodity account will be activated within 72 working hours. New users opening Zerodha account, must select commodity segment at the time of account opening.
- Zerodha allows trading in commodity derivatives on MCX and NSE. Customers can Buy and sell commodity futures & options contracts on Zerodha Kite.
- Agricultural Commodities: You can trade in agricultural commodities from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Non-agricultural commodities: 9:00 AM to 11:30 PM
- Your commodity account in zerodha will be closed within 3 working days and you will be notified via email.
- Zerodha charges low-cost flat brokerage fee at maximum Rs 20 per executed order on commodity trading.
- Zerodha currently does not support commodity trading on BSE.
- Once you have an active commodity trading account in Zerodha, you can start trading in commodities online. Zerodha allows trading in MCX and NSE commodity derivatives.
- Once the commodity segment activation request is placed from the console, it will take the next 48 working hours for the segment to be activated.
- You can also send the commodity trading form offline and it will be activated within 48 working hours after the application form reaches the Zerodha head office.
- Zerodha Kite offers access to MCX and NSE commodity derivatives contracts. Zerodha maintains single margin account for trading in equity and commodity segments.
- Note: Zerodha charges Rs. 100 to open an online commodity account while the offline account opening fee is Rs. 200.
- The brokerage charge for commodity options/futures is 0.03% or 20 Rs whichever is lower.
